Authenticity is Back
With the surge of the "personal brand" over the last decade, true authenticity has become a rare commodity. Yet heartfelt storytelling can elevate any brand and engage an audience.
Be vulnerable. This is especially true for corporations, public figures and CEOs. Don't be afraid to share something personal, expose a softer side and share.
Lead with something that will generate connection. A local event, personal anecdote, even a challenge or struggle that you or your organization has been facing will foster a spirit of community. Audiences are not looking for perfection, rather, they seek emotional connection and relate-ability.
Some industries and organizations are full of potential storytelling gems. Others have to work a bit harder to find content that feels grassroots. When looking for that perfect nugget to share, don't worry about brand, corporate message or even growth goals. Seek connection. And don't try to "close" someone on to your product or service.
Share your truth, engage your community and connect with your audience.
